Federal public service workers. Education workers. Port workers. Liquor store employees. Actors.

Across North America, we’re seeing workers take action to win better working conditions and wages in the wake of skyrocketing inflation.

These wins don’t exist in a vacuum. They were accomplished thanks to the solidarity and strength of unions and workers across the country, and they benefit more than just the workers directly involved. A healthy labour movement raises the bar for everyone—unionized or otherwise.

This Labour Day, we strive to create a world where all workers feel empowered to organize, to stand up, to speak out, and to make things better for themselves and their communities.

I am immensely proud of our members for joining picket lines, rallies, and offering words of support to fellow workers as they bargain or participate in job action.

To those who have taken action to make a difference in the lives of workers, thank you.

To those who work to keep us safe, healthy, clean and fed; to those who help us grow, learn and dream; thank you.

This day is for you. Let’s celebrate by standing in solidarity with workers fighting for fairness!
