Everyone should have access to a good education. But Canada’s post-secondary institutions have been under attack for decades, making school more expensive, academic jobs more precarious, and causing important courses to be cut from lack of funding.
Now, a bankruptcy protection loophole has resulted in the loss of over 60 programs at Laurentian University. Good jobs have been lost, along with educational programs that many students rely on.
If the federal government doesn’t act, schools like the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Regina, and other local colleges could suffer a similar fate.
We need your help to protect public institutions.
