Grievances
This is to advise that SGEU is considering grievances with employers regarding the recently announced Government of Saskatchewan Vaccination Policy for Public Servants.
These grievances will not seek to dismiss the policy altogether. Rather, the grievances are about the unfair timeframes, accessibility of testing sites and costs imposed upon employees to be compliant with the policy.
We requested an extension to the deadline for employees to be fully vaccinated given the short timelines between the Government of Saskatchewan’s policy announcement and the implementation date. The Government has agreed to this extension as of October 7, 2021.
Currently, SGEU is in discussions with government on the what the requirement for regular testing for unvaccinated employees would be, given the lack of accessibility for testing in Saskatchewan.
