International Workers' Day, also known as May Day, is a global celebration of the labour movement's achievements, from the fight for the eight-hour workday to the protections many workers rely on today. Unlike the statutory Labour Day in September, May Day is marked by unions and workers through rallies, marches and community events. It serves as both a reminder of the hard-won victories of the past and a call to continue advocating for fair working conditions, equity and social justice for all.
