Local 1102 Bursaries
Local 1102 offers two bursaries to Local 1102 members in good standing and their partner or dependants who are pursuing post-secondary education. SGEU membership in the current calendar year is required.
Martin d'Entremonth Bursary
This$1500 bursary is offered to Local 1102 members, their partner or dependants who are pursuing post-secondary education on a full-time basis. The recipient may be attending any approved institution in Canada, in any program and any study level.
Local 1102 Bursary
This $1000 bursary is is offered to Local 1102 members, their partner or dependants who are pursuing post-secondary education on a part-time or full-time basis.
How to apply for both bursaries
- Complete the application form below. A copy of your submission will be emailed to you.
- Submit an essay of approximately 1000 words on any aspect of the Canadian labour movement. Your essay must not include any personally identifiable information except your student number.
- Upload a cover letter with your name, student number, address, email address and telephone number. Your cover letter must indicate if you are a member or a partner/dependant of a member and the name of the member.
The awarding of the bursary is based on the review of the essay. The successful applicant will be announced at the Annual General Meeting.
Bursary amounts: $1500 (Martin d'Entremont Bursary), $1000 (Local 1102 Bursary)
Application deadline: September 30
Note: Incomplete or incorrectly complete applications will not be considered.
