Community Services Sector awards the Lynda Bliss Memorial Scholarship and the Anne Burkholder Memorial Scholarship annually. These $500 scholarships are open to all members of the SGEU Community Services Sector in good standing, their spouses or dependants.The applicants are chosen based on union and community activity. The applicant must be registered in either full-time or part-time attendance at a recognized post-secondary institution.
Note: The Community Services Sector may consider applications from other sectors should there be no qualifying candidate from the Community Services Sector.

Lynda Bliss was an active member in the Community Services Sector. In her memory, the Community Servies Sector created the Lynda Bliss Memorial Scholarship.
Anne Burkholder Memorial Scholarship
Anne Burkholder was very active in the Community Services Sector, serving on executive for several years prior to her passing. Helping others was her passion. In honour of Anne, the Community Services Sector awards $500 to a recipient whose educational goals prepare them for a career in which they better peoples' lives.
