February 8, 2012 - Pressing Necessity issue…We need our WCB Members’ input!
The Negotiating Committee has filed a Policy Grievance in order to challenge our employer’s interpretation of Article 18.1. However, in order to strengthen our argument against that decision, we need examples of individual WCB member situations where Pressing Necessity was denied beyond the current 3 day allowance. If this has occurred to you, please send your detailed example(s) to the attention of the WCB Negotiating Committee at union [at] wcbsask [dot] com
November 2, 2011 - Ratification vote results
We are pleased to announce our tentative agreement has now been ratified. Thank you for your support.
Arrangements will be made for our new 2010-2012 collective agreement to be printed and made available for online viewing as soon as possible.
October 20, 2011 - Ratification vote
The WCB ratification vote is scheduled for Monday, October 24, 2011, in Regina and Tuesday, October 25, 2011, in Saskatoon. The negotiating committee will provide a brief presentation at 5pm to highlight the aspects of our tentative agreement.
October 11, 2011 - Ratification vote scheduled
The internal review of the tentative agreement has been completed. A ratification vote for bargaining unit members will now be held. Attached here are a Bargaining Report with information about ratification meetings, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and the MOA Supplementary Document.
August 19, 2011 - Tentative agreement reached
A tentative agreement was reached with our employer on August 17, 2011. SGEU must first complete an internal review of the terms of the agreement before it can be ratified.
