The SIAST Academic Negotiating Committee has accepted the report prepared by mediator Tom Hodges.
"While a tentative agreement was not achieved directly through the mediation process, we agree that the terms outlined in the report have the potential to form the basis for a collective agreement that is fair and reasonable," said Jim Steele, chairperson of SGEU's SIAST Academic Negotiating Committee.
"The parties have work to do in order to shape these recommendations into a new tentative agreement and we will be meeting regularly in the upcoming days to work on the details of a memorandum of agreement to be recommended to our members," Steele added.
"We are committed to working with SIAST on outstanding issues to provide the quality advanced education to the students of SIAST that is so necessary to the future success of the province," he said.
