SGEU Academic members and SIAST sign MOA - December 1, 2011

Today SGEU’s SIAST Academic Negotiating Committee and SIAST management signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that puts the parties one step closer to a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

“I’m pleased we have signed this MOA,” said Jim Steele, chair of SGEU’s SIAST Academic Negotiating Committee.

Once the MOA is ratified, the parties will start meeting to discuss implementation matters of the Market Adjustments and the Western Canadian Average plus implementation matters on the Personal Flexible Spending Account.

“Getting closer to a collective agreement for our members means we can continue to provide the quality education our young people deserve,” said Steele. “We need skilled workers to maintain Saskatchewan’s economic growth and our students deserve an opportunity to participate in the growing economy.”
