The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA) employees lifted the ban on working voluntary overtime hours following contract negotiations with the employer last Thursday.
“We gave the employer a new offer during our negotiations,” said Trent Edwards, Co-chair of the Negotiating Committee. “We’re confident this offer meets the needs of patients, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and SGEU members. We know the employer is discussing our offer, so as sign of good faith, we have lifted the voluntary overtime ban.”
“We are hopeful that the offer we presented to the employer will result in a tentative collective agreement,” said Bob Bymoen, SGEU President.
The ban on working voluntary overtime hours was put in place in June, 2011 and did not affect patient care and treatment.
